Mini Trees - a work in progress
« on: August 26, 2010, 11:23:12 PM »
We decided like so many before us that we were lacking in some mini trees.

Lacking in any welding skills we decided to subcontract to my cousin who has a truly excellent shed. We forgot that a farmer has a different idea of 'sturdy' though!

These are about 700mm high, and we have 7 of them. They are designed to fit onto a star picket (we have a fence in the front yard so we need them raised about 1m off the ground)

Looks like a great project to cover with a water resistant film, and install a bunch of RGB's into it with it's own little DMX controller....But than again, I over do everything on here.

apparently they are already coated with some anti-corrosion stuff.

we will wrap with 4 colours (160 LEDs each colour) and all 7 will be run off a DMX controller. We just have to wait for our order of lights to arrive so that we can get on with construction!

Each tree has 8 strings, RGBW x2. See photos now attached to the first post.

fortunately mum is away, otherwise we wouldn't be allowed to leave trees lying around the dining room!

Yes boxes of lights are nearly empty now and our front room is full of Christmas trees. Now have our small Megatree under test.... Why do I feel tired now on Mondays?
