You may be wondering why AusChristmasLighting has appeared to enter into a timewarp lately. Late last night, the server which AusChristmasLighting runs on experienced a major failure. This major failure being the corruption of the filesystem through the hard disk drives dropping from the RAID configuration .

The last full-server backup was done in April of 2013, which is why ACL was displaying dates from this period initially. However ACL has its own site-level backups, last created at the start of December (2013) and this has now been applied. It is unfortunate that any posts, new member sign ups and other activity that occurred after December 1st has been lost forever, but there is little more that can be done with the backups we have available.

As the Christmas season has come and gone during this time, I'd invite you to resubmit your display videos into the ACL video gallery where they'll be reviewed to make sure the URL's are correct, etc. Please supply the artist(s) of the song/arrangement if possible.

Re: Server Crash - Restoral of (some) December posts

Hi guys,

Please be advised that I am doing a manual restoration of some posts lost from December '13 (thanks to Google Cache!)

Unfortunately this process is completely manual and very slow. Original posting timestamps are not available in this instance, but it is still better than nothing!

If a restored post was originally posted by you, then the restored copy despite an incorrect timestamp will also be posted under your own account. The contents of each restored post are exact copies of the original.
