Hi all,
Advatek is pleased to announce that the PixLite range of controllers and the Assistant configuration software now support a number of new features.
The major update means that the Advatek Assistant software will now find all controllers on the network even if your PC and controllers have totally different IP settings.
This means that initial setup in particular (especially for beginners) should be a breeze. Without changing your PC's network settings at all you will now be able to see any PixLite controllers as soon as you connect them. If a controller is on a different IP range to your PC, the software will allow you to remotely change it to something in the correct range. You should never again have trouble configuring your network adapter or even need to remember a controller’s IP address. This change applies to firmware V1.4.5 and Assistant V2.2.0 and above (and all new PixLite controllers we ship).
Regarding the Assistant software, we have added the following to enhance usability further:
- Ability to select between multiple network adapters installed on your system
- Advanced channel configuration now shows the last channel used to help make the range of addressing used on each output clear
- Turning on auto-complete option will automatically complete sequential addressing for outputs 2-16 based on other parameters set
Regarding the general feature-set for the PixLite range, we have also added the following:
- Pixel grouping
- Brightness control (intensity limiting for lights that are too bright)
- Support for APA102 pixels
- Hold last frame option (DMX timeout action)
In addition to the above, PixLite 16 HW Rev 3.5 now supports an auxiliary output allowing you to connect a fan to regulate the temperature of your enclosure. The user is able to easily set a target temp using the Assistant software. The controller's on-board temp sensor will then provide feedback allowing controller to automatically control the fan’s speed for enclosure temperature control. This is particularly useful if you are using a high power PSU in the same enclosure as the controller.
More detail regarding the changes in the Assistant software and the additional features added to all PixLite controllers can be found in the 'PixLite Configuration Guide' available here: http://www.advateklights.com/resources/download-category/manuals
