Ultimate guide to TPR1 Strobe
« on: February 11, 2011, 09:24:21 PM »
After many posts enquiring about the construction of the ACL TPR1 Strobe, I started compiling some information to assist others, not wanting to steal Dano's thunder with his excellent post, I had some spare time to finish off what was started a few months ago. If there's anything that still needs a better explanation, please send me a message.

Assembly Guide  http://www.src.net.au/Personal/Projects/TPR1Strobe/Assembling_TPR1-Strobe.pdf

Programming Guide http://www.src.net.au/Personal/Projects/TPR1Strobe/Programming_TRP1-Strobe.pdf

Steve Baker

Update.
I've corrected the spelling in the Assembly Guide and added the Programming Guide.
I'm not sure who deserves the credit for the hex files referred to in the Programming Guide, but if someone knows please let me know so I can update and give credit where its due.

Update.
I've just added both PDF's to ACL media http://forums.auschristmaslighting.com/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=43
Enjoy.........

Great work there Steve, thanks for the big effort in putting that together. It will take all the guess work out when building these strobes.

Steve,   Thanks for the great PDF on how to wire these little buggers!  This will greatly help myself and others wire them up correctly (before I blow some pads off the board)   :)

I plan on linking this thread to mine for cross ref.

Great explanation!!

Steve,

I too thank you for the write up.  This will save me a ton of time building 120 strobes.

I was feeling like a Anti-Smoking campaigner who had never smoked as I had not actually built a strobe as yet. So today I built my first strobes, and after a little messing around with the PIC programmer I was able to get them both to work. So those having difficulty getting them to work don't give up.

Nice job on the documentation - this would have saved me some time early on when I was building mine. I'm up to about 150 with another 50-60 to go but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now!

AussiePhil would be the best one to ask, he is a very busy man so it may pay to email him your request http://forums.auschristmaslighting.com/index.php?action=profile;u=1

These were last years group buy and I believe there is no plan to offer these for this year (Phil may have some boards left). On saying that MPH is currently working on a strobe string that will likely take the place of these.
More infor on MPHs strobe string can be seen at this post

Now that im building my strobes i would like to thank Steve for such in depth instructions on building these strobes. You have made it much easier for me to know the options and how to build and program the strobes without any guess work.
A great tutorail that must have taken a lot of effort to put together, thanks again.
