Have my first mini-pixel tree put together temporarily today. Just have pipe cleaners holding them on. Will be building the second one soon using zip-ties. Have to adjust some spacing between pixels a little bit. I have 8 of these that will be a part of my display this year.

Great idea with the twist ties. I did some mini trees on the weekend and when I did the first one I was wondering how I could test it without wasting too many zippy ties. I didn't think of twist ties. Luckily though, I did a few calcs and the first one was "close enough" that I didn't have to do it again.

I'm not being critical of anyone's setup and I haven't even seen them lit up at night but I was wondering if anyone has done an experimentation to see if it looks better with a closer spacing at the top where the curves are smaller diameter. Just thought it might end up defining the curve better with a closer spacing on the tighter radii. I'm guessing it looks fine with equal spacing all the way but just putting it out there to see others experiences.
I suppose what I'm saying is keep the number of pixels per revolution roughly the same all the way up which equates to a bigger spacing at the bottom and small spacing at the top.
Interested to know if anyone has done a comparison.

I feel sometimes we are our own worst critics. We tend to micro-manage the details of our displays but in the end it is the overall effect that people see.

I got 4 trees done from yesterday to today.. Have four more to go. Have to figure in power injection also as 200px is too many. Should I inject at the end of the 200 or in the middle between px 100 and px 101?

Mine are the same as yours. I am going to run mine on 12V or 24V with Buck Converters, (they just arrived today 
) I will start wiring now and see the result.
You could run a heavy gauge wire for +ve and -ve but the data will still be lost at 5V.
