I have a 6M or so flagpole, aluminium maybe 50mm diameter.

I am thinking of buying something like this , where the star and strands come all as one vs Buying a separate much larger star and using say the 30m light strands and manually going up and down.

with

40m lit length so 40/6m = about 5-6 separate strings coming back down

What do you think?

If you are looking to use standard lights, then both options would work on your flag pole. Just depends what look you are after.

I think you may be a little underwhelmed with only 350 or 400 lights on such a large flag pole. I would suggest 2-3 packs at a minimum. Bunnings do sell 1400 light packs if you are set on the Lytworx brand.

The use of standard twinkly christmas lights can be a little limiting if you are looking to integrate into xLights in the future, but they still look quite nice.
Its all about the look you are after
