Trouble installing Xlights

Hi all,
I’m new to this hobby, and I’m unable to install Xlights on my Acer Windows Device. The file downloads to my PC, but when I try and open the file I’m met with a pop up that reads “The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program”. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

I bet its 32bit windows.

right click on start button, go to system, then post a screenshot of that window.

Have you tried downloading an older version of xLights and see if that installs or you get the same error message?

If I remember correctly, Acer Windows Device is a Chrome based machine. This could be a big factor.

The xlights website has had some issues of late as there have been changes to where the files are now hosted. I had the same issue trying to download from xlights the other night (would eventually only download half the file and I got similar corrupt message)
The alternative offered to me was direct download from Github - here is the latest version 2024.01

I've seen it download corrupt before. The indicator for me was in File Explorer the .exe would not show the nutcracker icon when the file is corrupt.
