Finally got around to making my first arches. Not huge - just a leap of 2m each (50 pixels/arch). Whipped them up over the weekend and I'm pretty happy with them - first new item build for this season. Also nice to get to use the pixlite4 that I got last year but never go around to using it.

The link works here.

Edit: I'll add that it takes a long time to load here but that's probably because the wifi isn't 100% reliable.

Very nice !

I am jealous of you folks who mention 'whipped this up on the weekend ' .. a couple of hours later etc !

In my case , its mostly several weekends (and a few trips to Bunnings later ) ....

Now I read my post again, saying "whipped up" sounds a bit smug, sorry. I was actually surprised myself at how quickly they came together because usually these things do take me a lot longer and too many trips to Bunnings also. Having said that, these are fairly small by comparison to other people's arches( 2m arch, 1m wide and 75cm tall) but they will suit the area I am going to place them. Was also surprised and pleased at how easily the pixlite4 setup went.

Any pictures of them in the daylight?

Will take one when home from work. Design was "borrowed" from pictures on a website.

As I said, saw something very similar on another website and "borrowed" the idea and went to Bunnings to get the aluminium bits. Very easy to knock together. The feet are short as I will be screwing the arches down on a plank of wood that will lie across the end of the driveway.

So the secret is in the flat metal.Thank you.

Bunnings in NZ sells the flat aluminium in 2m lengths here and I grabbed the width (20mm x 3mm x 2m) that looked wide enough to hold the pixels with cable ties but was flexible enough to bend into an arch. The feet are the square aluminium type bars and the bar across the base was the thinnest and cheapest one they sold (12mm x 3mm x 2m). The "renovator" tool my wife got me last Xmas worked a treat for cutting the aluminium.
