I finally got around to writing some code to drive a single P10 panel with "tune-to" text.

It has a user settable frequency (simple up/down buttons) and runs from 5V.

I only did the firmware to do one panel to keep things simple.

The text fits for the intended application so I wasn't going to do multi panel.

Remember that this is not a generic P10 controller driven by a sequencer.

looks like a new product for 2016 nice work can you work out a price for the controller and coding .can the text be changed after the coding is done

My idea was for the text to be fixed and just have the frequency user changeable.

As for price, my pure wild guess is $25 for the built and programmed PCB.

The code I have for it now can have several words flashed up one after the other, but is only settable when I program the PCB.

The frequency part of the message is set using two buttons on the PCB. They adjust the frequency displayed just like you were tuning a car radio.

I'm in for one of these as well if you can customise the text and colours when you first program it. I'd want two panels pointing in different directions but saying the same thing.

If only using one panel , what distance to the kerb would this be placed at ?

I guess it depends on the eyesight of the viewers ? lol

I was imagining people putting the sign on their front boundary, but a single P10 panel with the large font (~140mm tall) I tried should be readable at maybe 5-10 metres from the curb.
