One Pattern across Entire Lights

Ok, I think I know the answer to my question, but just want to make sure I'm on the right track. So I've seem Heaps of Lights displays the use all their lights at once to display for example a Pinwheel Effect. So am I correct in saying that this was done by using the Layering effect?? Or is this some other type of Christmas Effect only used by Master of The Light's ??

Most of the effects in Xlights can be done across the full house if you create a full house group. It is just a matter of having pixel elements in place that will allow the effects to be seen.

The simplest way is to make a group with all your display items in it then drop the effect onto the group. I’ve got a group called whole house and so it’s easy to distinguish.
