I’m looking to build some arches, although our house sits up high so the viewing angle would be from below the arches.

For anyone that’s used LDPE for arches and strip lights, is there sufficient light spread around the tube, or is the under side of the strip too dark?

If you’ve used other lights in there, let me know which ones and how they sit in the tube, with any obvious hot spots.

Cheers.

I use them on my roof, so the viewing angle is from below. The whole thing glows so no problem.
I used strips in them and was worried I would get a shadow, but it is almost unnoticeable.

This is about the best shot I have of them, I didn't take too many shots last year.

Did you face the strip up, towards the sky, or down so it was laying on the LEDs? Both I imagine will give off different looks as i know o can see a dark patch n the bottom of mine (strip facing up)

Strip is facing up. I wasn't overthinking it when I built them, actually I don't think I was thinking at all as i was replacing some roof arches I already had but made them a completely different size so had to redo my setup and sequences.

I'm thinking when I do mine, I'll run bullet pixels and poke them in from the back, rather than the usual underneath.

I believe it will give a more even spread of light on the front.

Anyone tried doing them that way ?

I attempted to run a string of pixels inside the pipe, but looked worse that the strips and was a pain to get them in, the plastic on plastic was not kind.
But to drill and push them in may work. However, for ease of use I think the strips are the way to go. They are protected and give a really good cover of lighting with no hot spots.

I think people who use nodes with air seeder hose have drilled/pushed them to poke through the walls rather than keep inside.
