Hi all, Attached are some pics of the proposed area for the mini. It's a large/long boardroom.




We can keep it dark for the pretty lights/presentations and its also well lit for when we need it




Also, the open area towards the folding doors is available - It's bigger but there is no way to control the natural light in the room so it might get a bit annoying.




The intention is to likely put on a BBQ for lunch on the days - Does anyone have any objections to this? Specific dietary requirements? If you don't want a BBQ and/or prefer to bring your own lunch there are Kitchen facilities available and a fridge if you need to store stuff


Coffee (Not that instant crap!) and Tea will be available FOC.

As I can only attend on the Saturday, the Saturday schedule looks pretty good to me, covers a lot of the stuff I am interested in as a beginner, looking at Sunday's schedule some stuff I have no idea about so think that means it won't be much use to a first timer like myself and networking i have that 100% covered lol so I am happy with how the schedule looks.


As for lunch BBQ all the way lots of meat and you can forget that green stuff cause "you don't make friends with salad" lol can't wait to learn lots.


Not sure if others would be interested in anything relating to soldering, if there are any newbies coming that don't know how could be a good topic? Not saying that as I want to learn, got that covered personally lol.

there look to be plenty of time for people to wander around and look at how the displays are built

Time is almost upon us for the 2015 Adelaide Mini.

So far we have 18 registered attendees with a great mix of regulars, interstate visitors and a couple newbie’s.

A big thank you goes out to Andrew (elnino) and his boss at Geek who has kindly donated the venue for the weekend, along with the venue they have donated free Coffee and Tea and wifi to be used at the venue.

I would also like to thank Mawson Gourmet Meats who have kindly donated meat for the weekends BBQ lunch, without sponsors like Geek and Mawson Gourmet Meats we would not have a venue and not be able feed the masses.

To assist in the day to day supplies of the event I need to charge a cover charge of $5 per person per day, this will go towards Soft Drinks, Bread, Salads, Nibbles and other incidentals required for the weekend. This will be payable on the Saturday upon entry to cover the days attending.

We also need to thank some other sponsors of the weekend who have donated door prizes to be given away in a random draw on Saturday. I would like to thank

As a fair few people over in SA knew I had planned to get over there next weekend for the mini. Things haven't worked out that way for me so all the best for everyone heading there. I will check in on the stream as it happens
If anyone wants to see any of my boards I will be sending over a few to pass around and have a look. There'll be a DMX36, PI36, 2811DC15 and 2801DC30 at the minimum.

I'm pleased to announce I will be attending this year Adelaide Mini.
I will be bringing my Projector and demonstrating how I did my full house Projection Display.
The Raspberry Pi's have also been packed in to demonstrate using them to run your show.
The Laptop is also loaded with LSP and xlights if anyone would like to look at them.
See you there, Can't wait to catch up with you all again.

If you have not checked the wiki we have released this years Adelaide Mini Schedule for the 2 days. If you haven't already checked it out you can view at the bottom of this post.


We may have a slight alteration to this schedule as we work out 1 final exciting presentation that if all goes well will take place at some stage on Sunday.


There has been some talk in chat about a possible catch up for dinner on Saturday night.


For those interested we will be having dinner at the Arkaba hotel, you can have a look at the menu if you like here.


Would be good to catch up with people after the Saturday and kick back with a cold drink in hand and some good yarns about in a relaxed atmosphere.


If the other presentation is a go I will release a updated schedule for your viewing, if you have any questions send me a message.

Hi Karob; Steve Giron is available to give a talk on xlights, I think he plans sometime fri night ( he is in California so 17.5 hours behind you). Find him on xlights forum or xlights Facebook. He is also a member here. Sorry I will be on vacation. Steve is going to the expo to help man the room we will have.

Network Config for all lighting controllers and computers need to run them:


Available Ports: 16, expandable to 24.


IP address Range: 192.168.33.x


DHCP will be available and is recommended to be used where possible
Range: 192.168.33.50 - 192.168.33.100


Current Fixed Address Assigned
AP - 192.168.33.20 : P2
Karob 192.168.33.22 : P12


Fixed IP addresses available from
192.168.33.26

Please advice if you wish to use one of these for your controllers so we can track allocated IP's.


All connections via fixed Cat wiring at this time.

I would like to take the time to thank Both Sean and Steven from Xlights for their work and time on providing the Adelaide Mini a presentation on their great product.


I am sure everyone at the Mini will get a better understanding on the work the team are doing to improve the software for us to use.


I would like to extend the opportunity to other people who would like to tune in and learn more about Xlights, the presentation will be streamed live from California to the Adelaide Mini. there is a total of 25 spots open on this session and only a couple of these spots to be used by the Adelaide mini.


The session will be starting at 12:45pm Adelaide time and will last approx 45 minutes, it will be a great chance to learn more about the product and ask some questions at the end.


As we need to keep the numbers down to a level, I will not be releasing the teamviewer codes until Saturday, however if you wish to register your interest in the session please message me to be put on the list.


This is a great chance not only to learn about Xlights , but also a chance to join in the Adelaide Mini

Do you want to be able to plug that in to be able to get internet via that or keep it seperate?
