Sure do.
I am new to this and working with strings is a great way for this 60 year old brain to get started and not be put off by the complexity (in comparison) of pixels.
Being my first year with controllers,I purchased a heap of second hand stuff which included LOR CMB 16 controllers and mega metres of single coloured LED strings.
I added some RGB Dumb strips and floods to display along with my "domestic"(damn it all) 2 wire controlled rope lights and strings.
With a 3 month holiday and my daughters wedding thrown in, I did not have time to learn music sequencing and setting the controllers up, so I just went for "Stand alone" sequencing of each controller.
This year..... Sequencing and more single coloured pixel strings and.......hopefully..... mixing DMX controllers into the equation to control those damn 2 wire strings.
Only time will tell

I still use all LEDs in my display. Maybe I was just crazy, stupid, or foolish: but I bought a lot of them that are very good ones and spent a lot of money on them.
I also bought in big with 17 LOR controllers so I have the equipment now and use it!

I also have back problems which have taken me out of work for over a year and a half now so no income probably makes the move to pixels tougher as well.

I really want to just continue to use my LEDs and incorporate pixels into the display gradually and replace the LED strings as they fail.
Pixels are great but the "old school" look of things still makes people come as well. I run some static sequences on off times before and after my show that allow my strings to give a nice color wash to the display as well as light up the yard as well.
Maybe my lack of money is more of a problem but I still enjoy the lights no matter if incandescent, LED, or pixel!
