Had the opportunity to test one of these yesterday. Not low cost, but this was an amazing bit of kit for working on some big copper planes.

I've been using a Hakko 701 soldering station for well over 15 years now. They make good Irons even if a bit $$$.
my workshop probably has a dozen of them, never give any problems. My biggest issue is the parts are getting smaller and my eyes are getting older…. lol
