About 18 months ago I email back and forth with Mean Well Australia about power supplies. One thing which came up was that they recommend Fanless Power Supplies, as sucking in moisture over power supply components will cause power supplies to fail sooner.

Back then they only had fanless power supplies (which needed metal cases acting like heat sinks), which also had Conformal Coating for use outside. Mean Well have decided to make their power supplies with Fans more reliable outside they have introduced a new range with Conformal Coating (Check the specification sheet as well)

We used to use Meanwell years ago for pro installs and request conformal coated boards if we thought moisture would be an issue.. They used to charge a very small amount to do it, but it was worth it.. Good company..
