110-240V AC WIFI S20 Timer Windows Application. Control Lights, power injection, controllers and more. Free to use.

The S20 WIFI timer lets you schedule when to turn On and Off anything that's plugged into it, see photos and links below. They come in US/EU/UK/AUS plugs.

I have purchased a number of the Orvibo S20 WIFI timers ($20 to $25 US) and they can be purchased from Amazon, Ebay, AliExpress and many other online stores. As there was no Windows application to control these devices and add schedules I thought I would create one and allow anyone to use it to control their S20's.

The S20 can be controlled by the WIWO Mobile app (Android/IOS) however this has it limitations which is why I created my own.

The features of my app include:

- Register an Unlimited number of S20 devices to be controlled (well, limited to the number of DHCP addresses you have available on your network, so ensure DHCP is switch on and you have some available).
- Fully automatic, making it very simple and user friendly.
- At the push of a single button the app will find and register the device on your network. No need to know IPAddresses or MacAddresses of the devices, all you will be asked to do is enter your network password and to name the Device if found (for example "Main Controller").
- Create an unlimited number of schedules for each device. Set time, days and trigger On/Off.
- Natively control your S20's from within a Vixen 3 Sequence. See instructions in S20 App or video below.
- Not sure about other sequencers, however if the sequencer is capable of adding a Command Line effect to the sequence then it will be able to control your S20's.
- Create Groups so Vixen 3 can turn on/off all devices in that group.
- You will need to have this app running for the devices to be automatically controlled, either by Schedule or by your Sequencer. (Note: You could add another command line in your sequence to start this app first.)
- If the S20 is issued a new IP from DHCP there is no need to re-register as my app will automatically update IPAddresses when required.
- Any changes are automatically saved.
- Using remote desktop, the S20 can be controlled to allow any changes while your away from home.

VIXEN 3 Control - This is the big one for me as it allows me to create a start-up Vixen 3 sequence that will turn on all my S20's, therefore tuning on all my Controllers, Power Injection power supplies and any lights that plug into the wall. You can set the sequencer to run this sequence any time before your show starts to ensure all your power needs are turned on, this will in turn save power as you can turn them on just minutes before your show starts and again add another sequence to turn them all off when the show finishes. Even during your show you can turn On and Off power to static lights etc.

NOTE:

- I have not created an install file for this app as it only has three files so just Unzip the files to a folder and run from there. You may need to add the "C:\users\COMPUTERNAME\appdata\roaming\S20 WIFI Control" to your Virus software exception list as this is where the software settings are stored.
- For your information, once the app is running and you have registered your devices and created schedules the app will create a "S20WIFIControl" folder in your Documents area.

S20 WIFI Control Software link Version 1.1 32bit and 64bit - Copy all the files in the link to a folder on your computer.

Sounds very neat Geoff. I'll have to get an S20 to have a play with now. :)

How'd you go David? Do they look like they'd meet Australian standards?

I only just saw this and I think it is a great idea.
I too have a heap of projects on the go, but I remember last year having to go and turn everything on just before the vixen scheduler started up each night.
Andddd I wasn't allowed to go out the month of December, otherwise someone might miss out on the show.

I just ran it past the treasurer, and she has given, not just permission, but an order!
So I will be ordering these to give it a try. It may be a little closer to Christmas as I have a heap of projects that need completing first. But it will happen

First, thank you very much for your Windows application. Unfortunately, it is not working for me. I've got 5 Orvibo S20 outlets (US) and they show up fine on my Android phone and I can control them fine when my Android is connected to my home network.

However, when I use your app using a laptop connected via wifi to same SSID as Android, it cannot find any S20 outlets.

I've also tried with laptop wifi off and LAN cable. I've tried both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Here's what I tried:
1) Run your app
2) Enter wifi password
3) Click on + next to Device Name
4) It says "No new devices found. If you still have a registered device then please try again."
5) I click "OK" and it says "No devices found and no new devices can be registered due to no WIFI connection."

6) WIFI connection is fine because I can access internet via Chrome.

AV is off

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that it's not working for you. You are the only one that I know of that has tried it as I didn't know anyone that had them that could test it for me.

It's always had when you don't have testers as it works fine for me.

To start with is the Network Available light green or red?

If the light is green then have you tried doing a reset in the S20 so it's back to default and removes all schedules etc?

I haven't touched it for a few months so I will have a look tonight.

You can PM me if you like as I am interested as to why it's not working as I have 10 of these devices.

Just another question and a long shot.

What is your IP and subnet mask address.

Something I may over overlooked is that your network needs to be in a Class C network for example your Subnet mask address needs to be 255.255.255.0. The majority of home networks are setup with this.

If it isn't then it will not work, you could change it just to try and if so then I can give you a quick fix until I sort that out.

I am very excited about your project and would like to be a tester for you. Here is my setup:

Laptop
-Laptop running Windows 10 x64
-Five S20 devices all configured and working properly from Android phone.
-The S20 are all 110v US
-Connected to home wifi network (not using LAN cable)

Here's what I tried:
-I run the x64 app and it comes up with green light under "WIFI Availability"
-I click + to add device, reply "No new devices found...."
-Click OK and then enter Wifi password, press reset on S20 until blinking red light.
-Click OK, wait about 15 seconds and "No new devices found"

Next I turned OFF Laptop wifi and plugged in LAN cable:
-I get a green light under both Network availability and Wifi availability
-I then repeat the above steps with same results.

Then I ran "Advance IP Scanner" to show all ip addresses on network, the relevant S20 IPs are:
Name: IP Manufacturer
HF-LPB100.local.tld 192.168.1.109 N/A
HF-LPB100.local.tld 192.168.1.186 Hi-flying electronics technology
HF-LPB100.local.tld 192.168.1.251 Hi-flying electronics technology
N/A 192.168.1.141 Hi-flying electronics technology
N/A 192.168.1.206 Hi-flying electronics technology

My network subnet mask is : 255.255.255.0

Thank you very much for your efforts,
Doug

Just in case anyone is having issues connecting, a user has found that your Network must be setup as Public as it will not work in a private network due to security.

Hi,

I have started to use your windows app, thank you for that. The reason for using your windows app is that sometime I can not control the S20 from my mobile when I am not at home, so I am planing to connect to my home computer using anydesk and control it from the computer. My problem is as follow
I added the devices without any problems using you app, but then decided to removed then and start again.
When I tried to add them again they were not found by the app.
Did I do something wrong?
Thaks
