The RTC is not currently used, and yes you'd need to supply your own battery.

It’s usually towards the start of the new year so make sure you check back in every few weeks so you don’t miss out!

Well as per page 1 of this thread, its started as a bulk buy interest thread, and if there's enough interest, then the bulk buy is opened. This one was in Feb, so late Jan look out for a forum post asking for interest in a bulk buy for 2018.

Hi all
First post and just getting motivated after seeing a few xlights displays this year.
I have some Raspberry Pi’s floating around for FPP so I would also be interested in an opportunity to purchase a F16V3 in a bulk buy as from reading they seem like the go.
Looking forward to having a show to share next year. :)
