Ha Ha Ha. My wife suggested similar. And I was like a resounding NO...
We are also having trouble with a name for it as we don't want it to be the "polar express" etc. But we do want something that is catchy.
The wife thought of the "Southern Express" and then add a southern cross to it.
I kind of like it, but am open to suggestions if anyone has any...

Name I suggest would be THE GREAT WESTERN . Relates to type of train that ran on great western railway in England plus obvious you live in western Australia ! ..? What do you think

HaHa. Of course we count olive. That was the first reindeer my daughter painted when we made them to pull santa's sleigh.

I haven't updated this in a while. Basically last year I ran out of time and almost didn't get a show up at all.
So the train got stored in it's new station. As I decided I didn't want to get stuck again this year, I opened up the station (aka storage shelter) and the first thing to remove was the train, so out she came and straight up to the workshop. I have been doing little bits each afternoon and it will be out on display this year, complete with smoke! I have nearly completed the fire box, and have plumbed in the smoke machine, I dare say it will be finished, at least good enough for display, in a couple of days. If I get a chance after xmas, I will keep it out and do a little more work, as the original plan was for it to be mobile. I have the motor and the remote control and motor speed controller etc.
I will post pics in the coming days.

Yes the snow machine makes a bit of noise. But in testing I only need to run it for about 20 seconds and get smoke for about 5 minutes. The reason being, the smoke fills the drum and can only escape via the stack on the top and some small drain holes in the bottom.
My wife asked why it was coming out the bottom and I told her there is steam leakage from the pistons that drive the wheels... Duh...

We have smoke. I have also painted all of the control panel ready to install, as soon as the paint dries, in it goes and I will upload some pics.
