I'm a little nervous with power connections at the moment after shorting out and damaging the CPU on my pixlite 16. Alan on the 2811dc30 I am using a separate power supply on the 2811dc30 to run the lights to that used by the controller sending the signal to the 2811dc30. Do I have to disconnect the +ve on the line from the controller to the 2811dc30 or are the isolated circuits so it doesn't matter. I seem to remember they are isolated but it has been a while and I figure it pays to check. i guess what I'm asking is does the 2811dc30 board get its power from the controller power supply or the power supply hooked to it that runs the lights.

Thanks.

The power to run the lights on the 2811DC30 is fully isolated from the pixel input. The pixel input does however have to have gnd, data and +ve from the pixel source (either 5V or 12V).

Thanks Alan. I only connected gnd and data from the pixel input at first and nothing happened. Connected +ve as well and all good so I hoped this was right. Thanks for the confirmation.

Alan, one of the V+ terminals doesn't seem to be getting any voltage. Is this something I can fix. I haven't had a good chance to double check that it wasn't just a bad connection but when I moved the wires to one of the other v+ terminals they worked. So no panic, as it all works but it is something I will need to look at in the off season. It is the first v+ terminal next to outputs 1,2.
