Element 14 checking up on people

So I just got a random call from Element 14 asking me what my company does and why I am buying stuff from them, seems like they might be cracking down on only selling to real businesses. Not sure if anyone else has gotten a similar call.

We get calls from E14 and RS asking if we have any projects we need pricing for.

David is probably right.

I've only ever bought from them twice. After the second purchase they called and signed me up with a business "account".

Well they asked me what my business does and what products I would normally purchase and what I was using them for, all seemed very accusatory, I have purchased from them a few times mainly Rasp Pi's and some resistors and a few other things.

Got the phone call myself, they offered to set up and account for me and give me free delivery and 10% discount on all orders over $150.
Didn't have the heart to tell them I have all the raspberry Pi's I need

They will often ring up and offer discounts etc. company I work for will often spend a couple of thousand with them each month. A trick I have learnt if you ever want something request a quote and Request an extremely cheap price. Often I get things for less then half then list price.

I have an account that I use sporadically, I tell them I use E14 at work and this is just me doing miscellaneous project work in my spare time, they seemed happy with that....( this is the truth BTW )

they send me newsletters and such, although the Rpi are often excluded from their specials, but they are still cheaper than anywhere else i've found.
