Pixels on the roof

I am thinking of covering my roof in pixels
The strings would go from top to bottom.
What spacing would the pixels would one recommend, that would give a even view from the street.
Ray,s strings are 100 per 5 metres, this would be a quite expensive, so to reduce the cost, get them customer spaced.
I was thinking of 12v square nodes.
The result to give a matrix effect for the whole roof, but at a reduced cost.
Just an idea, depends on cost of nodes.

Thanks. Deblen

Rays standard 100 pixel strings are 10m, not 5m as they are 100mm spacing.
There the ones I use and the spacing is fine, I wouldn’t go any less.

Thanks Szoka and Karalee,
I want to be able to cover the while roof, top to bottom, side to side.
This would require a lot of strips.
Currently have LEDs, which give a great effect, 4 colurs individual strings twisted together, unfortunately they are about Te end of their life.
To reduce the cost of pixels, is to work out spacing, but be able to have an effect.

Thanks Deblen

Hi Jimbo,
Very nice.
Thanks for sharing.
Are you able to give some insight to Controller used, power injection, and wiring all the strips.

Sure,

Use falcon 3. Total of about 20 power injection points. Using ws2811 pixel strip, 10 pixels per metre. There is about 175 m in total, all mounted to conduit which clip into conduit clips mounted on the roof.

The power injection is roughly every second strip on Longer runs, but can get away with it being every 10-15m.

The falcon controller is set to 60%. In total uses 3 12v power supplies.

Wiring is all 3 pin waterproof plugs, with separate fuse box of 5amps on all power injections.
