Hi Brad, thanks for the welcome.. i’m Up at Woodford.. very minor attempt last yr. Want to make a mega tree, using Arduino mega, but not sure if I should go dmx shield or just plain mega via vixen?.

I changed my thinking and now going with Raspberry Pi, rPI-28. This should make it more expandable / future proof.

A quick query. If I run a 2801DC30 from the rPI-28 2801 output. Will this be able to drive 10 x small strings of dumb RGB strips. ??

Regarding the Mega. I’ll run this via the dmx output (DMX36MK2) from the rPI-28D. I can then add further dmx channels as the display grows.

All sequencesd via xLights

Any comments, greatfully appreciated.

Welcome Bruce to ACL, plenty options for you, Like djgra79 I am not familiar with the products either, but not to say you don't have other options, feel free to pop into the chat room for discussion and ideas

I don’t any of the gear that you have mentioned - sorry can’t help. Lots of smart people on here thought that can.
