I can probably do one on the weekend when I do a test. I have a distance of around 4 metres between my window frames, last year I had to run a 5 metre strip of pixels between them to get them to work, this year I used one of your null pixels at the end of the first window and they work perfect with the 4 metres of cable.

I also have a couple of runs of around 10-12 metres from the end of one model to the start of the next where I use the null pixels and they work no worries.

I'm having huge issues with the strip I bought from Ray this season. Anything over 2m (doesn't matter what prop or where it is) I have data issues. I bought a few of your buffers at the Sydney mini and they seem to have made the difference ( Hence the order for more  ) I'll grab a video of it for you in the morning

Dumb question probably, but do your null pixel buffers need to be accounted for in the models for xlights?

I'm drawing off old and probably incorrect knowledge here where you used to use an actual pixel to re transmit the data, but you had to 'add' the null pixels in. Do your boards to the same thing or do they simply 'amplify' the signal?

Found the exact same question on this thread which is already answered by AAH.

Cheers.

Assume just the data cable only was extended and not +/- was still a shortish cable.

Which 1 were you replying to Damon? In my video I had 33m of +,- and Data extended.

Nice thanks Nik. A pretty dramatic change and some good hot swapping like I have been known to do but don't recommend.

Yep, these things are brilliant. Just ordered another 10 from Alan. They have made life so much easier this year being able to have longer runs from the controllers.

Definitely on my must buy list for the new year!,,,
Have watched your other videos and read about also looks to be a great and simple to use product well done alan!
I experienced trouble this year for the first time as we built 2 new shooting star wireframes using 12v 2811 nodes early this year !
And worked perfectly fine with 5m runs on a new controller But once I placed them outside amongst the display my crazylightlady was unhappy with the positioning so ok (happy wife they say ) she wanted them on opposite sides of the display of course! Approximately 30 m apart ! So on one side of display have f16v3 running other elements and used a spare port and successfully ran approx 8metre from controller for one wireframe! But the other tapped into the f16v2 witch is getting close to maxed out ! I ran around the same length also wasnt happy at all so I tried running 2 nulls and was better but still not happening! So luckily I had a falcon 4port differential has got me out of trouble for now as our show starts early November each year àdelaide pageant day !
But I definitely can see in the future as I continue adding to my controllers assume the data signal may weaken ?
Also plans for next season will be lots of long runs and if I can overcome these problems simply and cheaply will be truly appreciated !
And also not be restricted by lengths of cables will be awesome!,
Cheers alan
