A big round of thanks to all the dedicated people working on this great program for us, One question which I have is , How often do you guys update the program?.
Should you do it everytime to keep things current , as you might do for say Windows , or take the old view if its not broke for you , don,t fix it

Also when you upgrade does it alter in anyway your previous rendered files?

Be interesting to hear the views of fellow enthusiasts regarding this one

Thanks again all you people . its always good to read how your all doing, looking forward to my first show in a couple of weeks time and I can honestly say, all of you who offered help to me in achieving this is most appreciated

For Gerald, most of us recommend updating most of the year, but holding off it it's working well and it is near time to run your show. With operating system updates, there are security concerns that make it important to update immediately. In this case, it's just improved functionality and bug fixes, so if you have a version that is working well and does everything you need, it might not be worth the risk of finding a bug that causes problems with your show.

That said, these guys are really good at addressing bugs as quickly as possible, so the risk isn't terribly high, and you can always roll back to a previous version. You really have to do your own risk assessment and decide what risk is acceptable vs what benefit you would get from updating.
