Hi guys. I haven't got any hardware yet but started playing around with xlights.

In the planing stage & need some advice on this element please.

See photo – sorry about photoshop job !!

Want to light only the uprights (blue) with one string & wondering would I cut & add wire (black not used) or black out the nodes in software?.

And If cut & wire, would there be a delay or power loss ?

Thanks for any advice
Steve

Hi Santa2

Cutting and adding wire will work. There won't be a delay. Power loss (also called voltage drop) will depend on the length and thickness of the wires that you use and the voltage of the pixels. It's usually possible to sort it out by using extra power wires. I don't think voltage drop will be a problem unless you use very thin wires. It tends to happen over longer distances and with larger numbers of pixels than that.
