Hi

I received my first bulk order of pixels yesterday and have started playing around with them, but am stuck at the first hurdle and cannot get them to light up during my initial tests. I have some other pixels which I bought a while back as a practice to get familiar with the process and they work fine. For the life of me I cannot figure out what the problem is.

As you can see from my setup below, I am running a 5v power supply into my PixLite 16 MkII. Channel one is powering my new pixels which I bulk ordered from ETOP Lighting (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32993373293.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.1.17243694p6gykB) and Channel three is powering my original pixels from Ray Wu (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32844995715.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.735c4c4dikSgxW). Both strings are 5v with 50 nodes. My new pixels have xConnect connectors whereas my original ones have non waterproof connectors. As you can see, the old ones (on the right) light up fine, whereas the new ones (on the left) stay dark.

I have worked through all the connections with my multimeter and don't think the new strings are broken. I also tested with a couple of the new ones that I got and had the same results for each.

I have switched the connections around (ie so that my old lights are on Channel one and my new lights on Channel three) and there is no change.

I am completely stuck as to why they won't light up. My only thought is that maybe the pixels are not 5v as advertised? I cannot see a label on the boards to verify what their voltage is. However I don't own a 12v power supply to check this.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

I believe uncledan has this correct. It looks like you're bringing signal in on the out side of the strand. That would happen if you're mixing xconnect and RayWu ends, or if you just put the wrong pigtail on the controller.

Thanks Uncledan and Katekate, I switched the ends and it works now. Didn't realise that would be a problem!
