    The ESTA Control Protocols Group is hosting an informal round-table discussion webinar Monday evening. ( CDT )

    •“Common DMX512/RDM Myths” will be broadcast on Monday, July 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., CDT. This will be 10am Tuesday AEST, or 12midday NZST.

    Subject matter experts from ESTA’s Control Protocols Working Group will share their knowledge and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and obtain answers from the CPWG members that authored the standards. This is an extraordinary opportunity to take advantage of the knowledge and experience of the CPWG, one of the Technical Standards Program’s largest working groups.

    Thanks. Was Interesting. 3 Pin DMX (i.e. not the standard ) vs 5 pin DMX Plugs was interesting. And that correct DMX cables are twisted.
    Have not notice DMX hardware with 5 pin DMX connectors. 3 Pin cables are used for items like analogue Microphones, but these cables are not really suitable for DMX.

    Example of a cable which does not meet the standard https://www.swamp.net.au/swamp-dmx-cable-3-pin-110ohm because its 3 pin, even if it does have shielding.

    Milton is the 5 pin DMX ranger. If you want too wind him up, take a 3 pin cable to a plug fest.. Technically there is no reason why the 3 pins are any worse than a 5 pin.. but its all about interop.
