Falcon F16v3 and differential receiver

I was just looking at the spec sheet but I'm confused , it says Receiver outputs 1 (only if not using RS-485 below) , does that mean a F16v3 board can have 1 differential receiver board without an expansion board ?

will it also work if I have a 16 output expansion board on the F16v3? I presume the pixel count has to be shared but something like this image ( yes I know that's a v4 but image is just to give a representation of what I mean )

yes. You can either have the receiver replace ports 13-16 on the main board, or you can set them as if they were a second expansion and have to deal with banking.
