Hi, love the idea of a Santa "dark ride" myself and @LawrenceDriveLights did a Halloween virtual dark ride a couple of years ago. He used a Pixel2Things board and I used a BooBox Flexmax controller.

Check the wiki for suppliers Most people get their pixels from one of the Chinese vendors

Thanks. The ride is more like this

But with the theme being santas workshop. Cant seam to find any info if its been done before.
Will start to film build soon if anyone wants to see the progress. Making it up from as much free stuff i can get or purpose.
Worlds first???

Thanks again.

How are you planning to light the ferris wheel? Depending on how you light it it could be a fair challenge with all the moving and rotating parts.

Welcome to ACL @KiwiXmas ,
Nice to have another kiwi around here.
Sadly I'm up North, but @Notenoughlights is down there.

In terms of lights, I've seen small numbers of pixels on TradeMe, but those are far too expensive.
Just order from the Chinese vendors.

Falcon pixel controllers are also shipping to NZ (since the group buy is not on here anymore).
Website shipping doesn't list it, so ask David Pitts (email) to have that arranged.

Indeed I am down there, happy to assist with controllers if needed.
As for lights in NZ, because most of the shipping prices are about half what you pay for a house, I've gone with Ray's bulk deals with free shipping to NZ https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400...earchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

hi. yes wheels will be either done by RGB string lights or with full led pixels, ready to run so people can just plug and play. with access to downloadable content.
Power for lights will come from 'O' ring. i just modify an old cordless jug as must are able to rotate.

Well thats the plans,
