Need help on 'blending' effects.

Not sure how to do this , but in a song when effects change, I want them not to abruptly change from one effect to another but more of a gradual change from one effect to another. "Blending" from one effect to another...how is this done in nutcracker? Ideas??

you can not do a cross fade but you can fade out and fade in your effects. on teh effect screen you out in seconds. so fade in of 1.5 and fade out of 2 will give a 1.6 second fade in from black and a 2 second fade out to black.
