Hi,

My wife and I enjoy setting up Christmas lights every year and next year we're thinking of adding pixel lights into the mix, I've got a background in IT and electronics so this will be a cool project for me. I have already poked around in the forums and I've found a lot of useful information.

Welcome, and make sure you have read the 101 manual as it is an invaluable source of information.
I too had a background in electronics and a very good understanding of I.T. but this hobby has a few things that were foreign to me.
Remember the only dumb question, is the one you don't ask.
Also, careful as this hobby can be very addictive.
