Hi all,

Stepped very lightly into the world of RGB last Chrissy. Wanting to add a bit more this year.

Last year i purchased

2 x 5m RGB WS2811 strips
350W dual switching power supply
TH 2010 pixel controller. http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/209604648.html

All worked very well.

i was looking at adding another
2 x 5m RGB Ws2811 strips (10pc IC 30 pc 5050 SMD)

2 x WS2812 0.5m meteors (5 pcs each)

1 x 100pcs WS2811 RGB nodes.

Would anyone be able to tell me if I can run all items as a continuous string? Nodes in the bushes on the left of my house, strips across the guttering and then wire across to front yard tree on the right where i'll hang the meteors.

or will the meteors and nodes require there own power supply and controller?

This is not a DMX display, the controller is pretty basic (has 100 settings for the lights), but Ray Wu recommended it last year as a cheap way of controlling the lights and it worked a treat. http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/209604648.html

I can provide links to all products if needed.

Hope someone can provide a little insight, I'm pretty green when it comes to this.

thanks

no...you cant mix different chips in a string
Although if they are the same protocol, I'm not sure that's the case- I've got 1804 modules coming off 2811 modules and they work fine, so I wouldn't think that there'd be a problem with 2811 and 2812.

The bigger issue here would be the maximum number of channels the controller spits out - if it only handles one universe worth, the maximum number of pixels would be 170, so depending on a few factors, he might be maxed out.
