Could someone explain the use and setting of Null pixels?

for example.
I have 2 elements both are 50 pixels in size
They are 6m apart.
If I was to use a null pixel, does that pixel get physically wired in
- at the end of the first element? or
- 3mts (1/2) way along the connecting cable? or
- at the start of the second element?

And how would this be configured in a P2

ACT ST PXL PXL CNT RGB CONV REVERSE NULL CNT RPT CNT
#01A X 1 51 RGB->RGB 1 0
#01B X 52 50 RGB->RGB 0 0

Thanks

I'm using an e6804 and have a null pixel @ approximately 3 mtrs from my controller, then another 3 mtrs to first pixel of element. In the e6804 firmware the only place you can use a null pixel is at the start. Otherwise, I could have added a null pixel in my sequencer (HLS) to do the job if it was between elements.

The null pixel would need to be half way between the two elements.

You can not configure this in the P2 as this assumes the null pixels are between the controller and the first pixel. You will need to add an extra one pixel element at pixel 51 in your setup and start your second real element at pixel 52 ( pixels 52 to 101).

The null pixel will decode the data stream, see there is not a command for itself and then recode the stream and pass it to pixel 52.

Booya! In your face pixel gremlins.......
It appears my data distance limit is 5 mtrs :)
4 null pixels later and she's a goer.

Oh and one of Rays black 2 pin pigtails was reversed polarity (from the factory)
Ya think that didn't take some finding :)
