<checks watch> under 12 hours til Christmas?!

Yep the busiest blinky night of the year is upon us and once again I've asked @ryanschristmaslights to provide some site stats for the year:
Since 1 Jan 2023 to 20 Dec 2023:
  • New posts: 5514
  • New threads: 596
  • New members: 1316
  • New media items: 85
  • New display videos: 134
Our busiest day for 2023 with the most logged in members was 4 January. 22 November was the second busiest.

Once again shoutout to Ryan for all his tireless work in the background keeping the 1's & 0's ticking over so we can enjoy our little corner of the internet with hardly any downtime and bugs. Did you know it costs money to keep the lights on around here? If you have gained some help and knowledge from the site's contents and members, perhaps you'd like to help out with a small donation to AusChristmasLighting? These contributions helps offset the associated costs of hosting the site, and pays for updates to core forum software and applicable extensions. And for a *limited time only, a free Generous Elf badge for your profile!
*ok, it's forever, 25 years in retail its hard to not get sucked into the marketing hype.

This year the admin team welcomed @Skymaster into the fold to help zap the spambots, approve the legit posts and be a generally huge contributor in chat and forums helping everyone out with their display queries. Thank you also to the whole admin/mod team who jump in whenever you can to assist from day to day.

Welcome to all of our 1300+ new members. Whether this is your first year or you're still taking in how it all goes together, we hope the community is a great source of knowledge & inspiration. We hope that everyone's displays have been well received by the public at large and despite being our own worst critics, you too are happy with your own efforts. Take a moment to step back, ignore the dodgy pixels, slightly misaligned props, badly rendered effects & stress it has all caused you and take great pride in what you have achieved. Remember, 90% of the population have cheated and gone to Kmart, Bunnings etc and bought off the shelf plug & play - where's the fun in that?!!

Once again the group has pulled together to produce another awesome edition of ACLATW (AusChristmasLighting Around The World which can be viewed HERE Special menions to @Zuseleets for the main sequencing and @Mark_M for his great video editing to pull all the submissions together. You actually get more than 3 seconds to see your display!!

With all that said, on behalf of all the crew both mingling and behind the scenes of AusChristmasLighting, we’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy some well deserved time off celebrating with your family & friends. We hope the new year brings you happiness & health, as well as new pixels, new props and new things to learn and conquer in the blinky world :)

Cheers, DJ (Graham)
