Hi all

Looking for some help/guidance. I've read the FPP manual and can't get my head around how to fix/improve this.

My home network is pretty straight forward, NBN to my IP ethernet/wifi router. This router only has two ethernet outputs, so am running one to an 8 port gigabit switch.

I am running one BBB+HE123 as my master, one BBB+Kulp and adding another BBB+HE123, both of these as remotes (unless that's not the best way to do this).

Everything else around my house runs off Wifi.

I have a Ring doorbell and three Ring cameras, which basically lose connectivity when I power up my Master.

What is my best solution here? Running this as multisync/remote setup I'll have ethernet running from my switch to each box, do I need to run different subnets to reduce the traffic on my home network?

sound like and Ip conflict. Have you tried a different static ip address ??
My ring devices don’t have IP addresses assigned, I did change the IP address of the controller last night which seemed to make no difference

so your saying its not connected your wifi network (the doorbell) ??
If I go into my router client list and assign the ring devices a static DHCP IP address, example 192.168.1.201 & 202, and ensure my show controllers are on 192.168.1.101, 102, 103 etc, that would eliminate the issue IF it is an ip conflict?

OR, set my DHCP range 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.150, and give my controllers an IP outside of this?

Still no good.
Controllers are 192.168.1.201 & 202
DHCP range is 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.150.
Ring devices have no connectivity while controllers are powered up.

Are you using multicast for the fpp remotes? If so, try changing it to unicast and popping in the IP addresses of each of your FPP instances.

Functionality of my controllers is fine. The connectivity of all my cameras is non existent. Could this change that?

Possibly. If the multicast addresses are the same, and/or IGMP is being triggered incorrectly somehow, it could prevent other multicast communication between other devices on the LAN.
Many of these plug and play IoT devices use multicast for discovery and communication initialisation.

Have you tried power cycling the router? The dhcp IP assignment may still have a reservation of the IP's for the ring devices.

Your Ring devices do receive an IP from your DHCP server. (I just checked mine to be sure.)
How are your light devices getting their IPs? Statically assigned at the device, or reservations made at the router?
Are your lighting device IPs within or outside of the pool for DHCP served IPs?
How much traffic are your devices using? It may be that your devices are maxing out your wifi. That many cameras (including the one on your doorbell) may be choking when your sequences are running.
Are you sending sync packets across your wifi, or full data?
