I do the same with grounding out the green wire. I have several of these units through out the yard powering my motorized props as well as landscape lights I use for spot lights.
I have a number of computer PS in the yard for various reasons and simply made a small wood box with a door on it. Chalked the corners and it works very well. Couple of holes in the base gives enough air flow. Simple and inexpensive.
