As some of you will know, my Pixlite LR16 died on me a week or so ago. I eventually found a price from Advatek for a replacement at a mere $1175.
With much trepidation, I opted to buy a couple of Baldrics. Thanks AAH for the quick shipping. I've finished putting one in a box today, and...
Thanks, but I don't handle groups well. The darn network port doesn't seem to be working. A solid yellow led comes up, the green stays off. No debris on the board, the RJ45 jack looks ok, capactitors aren't bulging, fuses aren't blown. I've got hold of a surplus router and set its dhcp range...
Your blood is worth bottling! I have a dongle - I used it only for setting the addresses on a couple of DMX2-18's. I didn't know it could do clever stuff as well!
I think the controller part itself is probably ok, but like my missus, refuses to take direction, or give sensible replies.
No pixels this Christmas, I guess.
A large part of my display is good old fairy lights, switched by DMX2-24's etc.
What's a quick fix to get DMX working?
My rotten Pixlite16 LR refuses to show up on Advatek Assistant.
I've tried three different network cables. I've manually set PC IP to the default range of the Pixlite. It just sits there blink blink blinking it's horrible red light. I've reset to factory. The rubbish bin is next.
I have some waterfall lights 31V DC. Two wires go to a control box that sends the chase effect to the various strands.
Could the DMX2-24 be utilised power it, and to turn it on and off.
I know it is designed for AC strings, and surely works by switching positive and negative rapidly to use both...
I agree Domestos. Much more robust though too. Unfortunately, my local Bunnings is probably the worst in Australia. Haven't seen obelisks there for years. I do see them at other stores. There's probably 4 pallets of them out the back, years old, and they can't figure out why they don't sell...
I'm starting to accumulate a sizable pile of dead inflatables. I've done a fair bit of googling re replacements, but there seems to be a wide variety of similar fans, which may or may not do the job. Some of the bigger inflatables might be 1.2A with seemingly compatible fans drawing only half...
Great idea. When I first started playing with pixels, I was told to not hotswap them, as the voltage spike when plugging them in could fry the chips. I reckon I lost a few in the first years by not following that advice. I would be very inclined to put a switch on these, with a power on led...
