The supplied controller has 2 strings going in from a one-directional transformer, then switches to 3 strings after. The controller button changes the speed of the waterfall effect as it cycles between the 4 lights. (Kind of like maddog007 is complaining about here...

Does this only affect half the channels? I am only planning to use half of the channels this blinky season, can I put off the firmware upgrade until next year?
