Here are the revised designs after the feedback from @AAH. I have decided to keep the footprint smaller on the one that will potentially be put out in the weather and covered in heat shrink to create two different boards. Both boards will now protect 12 and 5v circuits depending on what jumpers...
I have now doubled the trace size and added the holes for the fly leads and to breakout the fuse holder.
I am thinking of not using a fuse holder due to the fact that most people will already have them fused by a distro board or similar. What i am thinking now is just having the break out pads...
Hi,
After coming across a post asking about over voltage protection on devices specifically following the failure of a Buck converter i decided to post a design i had been playing with a while ago. I have since created a prototype PCB rated to 5amps and proved its function.
Basically what this...
If is interested i have a working board. I used some existing resistors i had here for the first trial circuit. With this trial board once the input voltage reaches 6v it drops the output voltage to 1.2v then after approx 1 second it will blow the inline fuse. This board will handle 5 Amps...
I have drawn up 2 designs. I am not sure of which design im going to go with yet but i have attached one of them. I was trying to find somewhere local to lasercut the designs to save on shipping but have run out of luck due to being in a mining area everyone is busy. I am going to order both...
For anyone interested i have sent my design off to the board house to get some PCB's manufactured. Once i receive these i will build and test them to make sure they do function as they are supposed to. Once i am happy with the way they are working i will post them up and find out how much...
This was one of my first designs i played with so it wasn't drawn the best so i am going to redraw it. I reopened it to take the screen grab and thought that doesn't look right at all. I have not worked out price they can sell for as im not good with that sort of thing (Usually go less then i...
Hi, I was looking into the same sort of thing a few months ago but I am by far from being an electronics expert (Just have a love for electronics). After some research online i have found the following crowbar circuit which i added an inline mini ATO fuse to and some screw terminals for ease of...
With brownells increasing there price I looked around online and found https://www.gunemporium.com.au/product/mtm-ammo-crate-utility-box-large/
Priced on sale atm for $35 each with $12 flat rate shipping. Payed $82 for 2 delivered to nth qld
I also did up a similar one with a 18" Diameter. Inside strips at 16" from center and Outside at 17". This is how the strips will overlay on a 15' Tree with 8' Base. My only issue with this is the possibility of the lights being to close and not getting a good effect. I am going to get both cut...
So i have come up with a 26" topper with a base dimension of 8'. 180 degree 32 strand. Does the pixel spacing at the top look okay or still abit cramped?
Hi Everyone
I am going to add a 15ft megatree to my display this year and wanting to create a topper. I have access to a CNC laser cutter and can design it myself in Autocad/Fusion 360.
I Would like some input on things people have found useful on a topper or even some photos of toppers you...
Thanks for the files Logan. i will be using them in my display. Is the piece under the join designed as a breakaway part and do you also see the slight offset circled in red or is it just Simplify 3d causing these?
They stock the Suntuf brand at bunnings in NZ so maybe take the item details from the Australian site and they maybe able to order it in or have something similar
