Huh. I'd never thought about orientation. Mine were in the xLights model position, but now i want to rotate them. I think they look better. Thanks! :)

Now that you've installed the drivers, does the node mcu show up in device manager?

Try installing this: https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-devkit/raw/master/Drivers/CH341SER_WINDOWS.zip That should be the drivers for it

You may need to install the drivers for the USB to UART bridge.

I used exhaust tube for the base of my tree. I just had to bend it into the circle which was pretty annoying, but it worked out okay. It worked really well tho.
