Thanks guys, I'm very new to X-lights and already don't agree with may of the effect styles lol, hence my desire to create my own or at least edit/cut the existing ones to pieces. I know nothing about shaders, but that's something for me to read up on.

Hi all, I want to create some of my own custom FX for X-lights, but any FX tutorial that i find on youtube only tells me how in insert FX into sequences/shows and that's not what i'm looking for. I'd like to know how & where i get down to the raw nuts'n'bolts of writing the channel patterns...

Thanks for your info. Yes, viewing distance/resolution was a concern for me, so thanks for confirming 3-5metres viewing distance for a P5 panel. I think the front of my house/chimney is about 5 metres from the footpath, so that's all good ;-) Good to know the Pi's don't quite match the...

Hi all, I'm about to buy either P5 or P10 LED displays, but not entirely sure of the pro's & cons of each display. Should i even bother with P5's if i'm not trying to achieve hi-resolution video screens? Maybe i should just go with P10's for simple colour shows and basic "Tune to" texts etc...

Gosh, i'm lost again, i just raised the 1024 channel versus pixel numbers in my other thread as i thought 1024 divided by 3 (RGB) allows only 341 physical RGB LEDs per port, but i was assured and sent documents that states 1024 "pixels" per port. am i not understanding "channels" correctly?

Did you actually measure 5volts right at the power input on the P48 board? Also check the underside of the power input connections, they can come adrift due to lack of solder or cold solder joints (breaks), just resolder the connections and the board may come back to life. (i see this a lot on...
