    I'm back home tonight

Always good to get back home, isn't it? Rest, relax, and try to take it easy, my friend. And most importantly - Get well soon! I know from personal experience how difficult it is to have plans and parts - and have to put it on hold for health reasons. But you gotta take care of yourself first...

    DMX Source for renard 64XC5

Budude - That will work! I would hate pulling the chips just to change the DMX address each time I re-arrange. Last year was not a problem as I had all Renard hardware, bu this year I am mixing in some other DMX devices, so addressing may change. smartalec - Yes, that is the Renard DMX code...

    DMX Source for renard 64XC5

I see that now! Now if the Renard devices just had ICSP headers on board... :(

    DMX Source for renard 64XC5

If the PICkit programmer can change EEPROM values, then yes, you could update the value that was compiled in. I would need to research that. The Renard DMX code takes in DMX frame/packet and outputs DMX frame/packet - so the downstream device would also need to be a DMX device. It does not...

    DMX Source for renard 64XC5

Both the Renard DMX and the new Renard Start Address code store the start address in EEPROM, but neither have code to set the start address over the wire. And the current renard hardware does not have a spare pin to have a set address hardware toggle switch incorporated into its software...

    DMX Source for renard 64XC5

I guess we could come at this from both sides. I could say that being forced to have to set the start address on every controller is complicated and burdensome. I could also say that positional auto-addressing is intuitive and simple. With standard DMX, I can rearrange my cabling any way I...

    DMX Source for renard 64XC5

The Renard DMX code and PICs programmed with it do not support on-the-fly setting of the DMX start address. You have to compile the ASM file with the correct start address for the first PIC on the board. All other PICs on the device will use the same firmware with 1 as the start address. The...

Basic circuit for PLCC6-5050 RGB LEDS

Thanks, Phil! I will check out the CL2N3-G device, but it may prove too costly for 214 channels... Ok, so here is my new plan. Seven RGB LEDs per strand. And use 24 volts. Red will get a 560 Ohm 1/4 watt resistor and Green and Blue will use an 120 Ohm 1/8 watt resistor. Thoughts/comments?

Basic circuit for PLCC6-5050 RGB LEDS

For a very specific project, I want to use one PLCC-6-5050 LED per channel. I was thinking about just using 12 V, as that was the minimum for the Tiger120, but I have a several 24 volt power supplies for another project lying around. The one advantage I see, is that with 24 v, the RGB LEDs...
