Any recommendations for a fog or haze machine to use with my moving heads on the roof?

Smoke outside is a tricky one as any wind is going to ruin your results. A small party type machine will not cut it, but then the larger scale hazers that concerts & festivals use to cover a wide area are usually quite expensive.
The power of your moving heads will also play a factor. If they are over 350w then you are likely to see beams in the sky without the need of smoke (this all assumes you mean at night time.) Any smaller wattage then introducing some type of fog may be required to see the beams.

They’re 380w machines. Maybe I’ll try them this year without fog.

In the fest/concert world we typically use 2-4 sets of smoke machines (not hazers, haze is too thin for outdoor) with big industrial fans.
The key is placement, you never know what the wind will be doing, so placing 4 machines (or multiple machines for very large areas) & fans in each corner of the available area means you can chose which machine to use to flood your yard based on the live conditions.
Just need to turn one machine on for a second and see where the smoke moves to, then turn the machine upwind of your display on.

We just went without haze last year. I couldn't afford a bigger machine or constantly filling the tanks. Some nights were amazing when it was humid. Some not so much. We filmed the show on a very humid night and it looked amazing!! American based houses tend to show up better because they are in winter during Christmas.
