I have been putting static Christmas lights up on my house for decades. I am semi retired now, and as Electrician and Electronics Tech, I want to step up my display a few notches. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing I say. I have been doing a lot of research and am preparing for Halloween/ Christmas 2025. I have much to research, and am trying to figure out which controllers are best and which pixels to use, what voltage will work best etc.. Lot of work but I have lots of time until Christmas 2025.

Run, or in your case ski away. (Just kidding.) Welcome to the madness. This hobby is both frustrating and rewarding. Note that your pocket-book is always at risk.

There are a lot of great folks in the different forums and they have 'been there'. Don't hesitate to ask.
Hop over to the Aussie site (https://auschristmaslighting.com/), register (free) and then download their "101 manual". Great reading and enlightening for all the different ways of the hobby. Maybe a bit behind, but still very relavant. There are a LOT of videos up here with just about all the information you could look for.

And of course, there is the Zoom Room. Easiest method to get to it is through the xLights page (https://www.xlights.org/). Click on Zoom button on top right corner. Works best if you have a camera, but not required.

Once again, WELCOME.

p.s.,
Your statement about "lots of time till Christmas 2025 is dead on. Christmas 2024 is a bit close to try for it now.
