Just a heads up, I ordered some (about 90 total) pre-made 4-wire seed pixel strings in 5V with RayWu plugs.. 100 pixels long. I tested some strings and found all of them had a "dud" pixel on both the start and end of each string. Thinking this was weird, I also tested with another controller and found the same thing.

Upon closer inspection, the first and last "dud" pixels are not actually pixels at all. This was confirmed also by counting the pixels and found each string has 102 "pixels" in each. Looking closer they do look a little different to the pixels, less silicone maybe? (see picture) - more noticeable on the rear of the string.2024 Ray Wu Seed Pixel Strings.jpg

I figured that maybe the first and last "fake pixel" is actually a silicone covered join between the length of pixels and the RayWu flat pigtail connector ends.

Just thought I would let others know so you don't get tripped up on this like I did.

I discovered the same thing. First and last is just a resin blob.
I ordered 45 strings and all had the same thing....except one. That one had a non-pixel resin blob at the start, but a regular pixel at the end without the blob. Thankfully the pixel count was still correct.

(Mine was from LightitupLED's, so it seems pretty common practice and believe they do it so they have a convenient place to solder/protect the pigtail joints)
