Baldrick8 Help Please!

I've just taken delivery of a new Baldrick8, but whenever we try to connect I just get dns_probe_finished_nxdomain error. Tried various browsers, PC & Mac, http://baldrickboard.local as well as http://baldrickboard
Board gives itself self-assigned IP address of 169.254.161.0
There are no DNS servers or search domains registering - could this be the problem?
I'm really stumped to understand what I've done wrong here!!!
Any help will be gratefully received.

Sounds like it couldnt contact your DHCP server on your home router to get an IP address....

Yep, couldn’t get an IP address because …. It wasn’t connected to the router!! Very much a rookie error lol
