My rotten Pixlite16 LR refuses to show up on Advatek Assistant.
I've tried three different network cables. I've manually set PC IP to the default range of the Pixlite. It just sits there blink blink blinking it's horrible red light. I've reset to factory. The rubbish bin is next.

I think the controller part itself is probably ok, but like my missus, refuses to take direction, or give sensible replies.

No pixels this Christmas, I guess.

A large part of my display is good old fairy lights, switched by DMX2-24's etc.

What's a quick fix to get DMX working?

Try dropping in the zoom room, I'll try and be in tonight after 8p Sydney time.
Another set of eyes might give you some clues

USB to DMX Adapter from Hansonelectronics
Your blood is worth bottling! I have a dongle - I used it only for setting the addresses on a couple of DMX2-18's. I didn't know it could do clever stuff as well!

setup the dongle in xlights, as a usb dongle with OPEN-DMX not DMX-Pro

Thanks, but I don't handle groups well. The darn network port doesn't seem to be working. A solid yellow led comes up, the green stays off. No debris on the board, the RJ45 jack looks ok, capactitors aren't bulging, fuses aren't blown. I've got hold of a surplus router and set its dhcp range to that required by the pixlite. Nothing connects. Oddly, when the pixlite is connected directly to the pc, with no router or switch, the adapter in Advatek Assistant immediately disappears.

There’s 2 versions of Advatek assistant, make sure you use the right version ie - pixlite mk2 needs Advatek Assistant 2 (not 3).
