I run xschedule on an old laptop, and if I have it set to power off the screen, the show stops and starts.

This wasn't an issue with my previous laptop (which wouldn't boot when I got it out in 2023) and it runs fine if the screen is left on.

Slightly annoying having a laptop running with the screen on in the front porch 24/7 :D

I just go into settings and change “do nothing when I close lid” option then you can close laptop so screen isn’t visible - it’s in the power options advanced somewhere

if you click start then type edit power plan, click on when that comes up as something you can select in the start menu, then up the top address bar click Power Options, then you should have a button on the left that says "Choose what closing the lid does" and be able to select "do nothing" which is what Chris is suggesting?

in theory it could be a wifi issue as the laptops wifi antenna are in the screen, so I wonder if closing the lid is causing connection instability?

I have used a laptop for years using xschedule and had a few problems early on, I leave screen on and turn off wifi and that solved all my problems.

Yes same , I turn off Wifi it stops all of windows “background tasks” I also turned off disk optimization ( defrag) it is kicks in on idle
