Heya all!!!

Just helping neighbour with his lights this year since Im not having a show.

He has some dumbRGB icicles.

He has purchased 9 x 30-ch controllers, dunno where from. The main difference I see from Ray's is that they have LED's on them to show RGB etc.

The lights are very erratic as you can see in the video, chans that dont have anything hooked up to them are going (LED's). If I turn the controller onto test pattern (dipswitch 10) the lights work fine cycling through the colours.

It kinda looks like something is interfering. I'm using the USB485RJ-ISO from USB off computer. Installed Xlights with only the one controller loaded.

When using da_tester.exe I see the USB485 transmitting, but no lights at all, same with da_DMX. The board (I have tested 2 of them thus far) is set to DMX chan 1.

If that green LED on the left side of the board is indicating received data then it does look like it is flickering at the same rate as the indicator LEDs.
Dumb question time: you are feeding it data for just channels 1, 2 & 3 ?

Yep, only 1-3. Currently trying da_tester again just trying to get it to respond to R, G & B. 485 transmitting, however green LED on board not responding, except when I actually click on the TGL button to e.g turn on red in the software.

Not a weird pin out on the DMX socket?
