The first prop I decided to build was a mega tree.
The design is - 180 degrees, 24 strings, 75 pixels per string, 50mm spacing, total 900 pixels.
Approx 4M tall plus 1M for star.
Star is currently 69 pixels in one layer but I will probably add another one or two layers for next year
The bottom ring 2m diameter , so around a 2:1 height to width ratio.
The top ring is approx 500mm diameter and the star approx 1M. The bottom points of the star are about the same width as the top ring.
It also had to be:- One person erection, able to be easily mowed around/ under, minimal impact on the existing garden and easy to store.
This is what it ended up like (with two pixels trying to escape)
